I am a retired art teacher, having taught art for many years to students aged preschool through adult. I am also a professional artist, having won awards for my work in printmaking, watercolor and acrylic painting. In recent years, I have enjoyed creating jewelry, including western-style bracelets inspired by visits to the Teton Mountains, Yellowstone, and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I also have fun with my line of hand-painted childen’s wear, which I call “Grandma Weezie’s Diva Duds” and “Grandma Weezie’s Studly Duds” designed just for children. I take special orders for the little ones for princess dresses, tutus, and holiday outfits for newborns up to age two.
In painting, my most recent work involves a newly discovered love of alcohol inks and encaustic waxes which produce the most beautiful colors. They are unlike any other medium I have ever used before...mysterious, difficult, and fun to work with. They often end up deciding what my painting will turn into, frequently different than what I had intended, but a beautiful surprise! Customers frequently ask me if I would teach classes in inks. The answer is, "Yes!" Just contact me for details.
I hope you will enjoy looking at examples of the work I have posted so far on my gallery pages!
